Modular + portable office furniture

As with so much in life, the issue isn’t really what you think it is and the solution is never what you envisaged.

This project was initially thought to be a simple storage prospect - bespoke shelving to ease the clutter and tidy the office space. And they we asked a better question: what’s really the problem, how is this space not working for you?

This led to finding out that there was too much free-standing office furniture in the room making the space difficult to navigate and overwhelming to sit in, too many individual pieces were not serving the right purpose nor fulfilling their role in providing ample storage.

What we did instead was remove all of the freestanding furniture, open up the entire floor space and provide storage and systems that were specifically designed for their use. We made all of the storage so it was movable allowing it to be used next to the desk or stored in the extremities of the room when not in use.

The removable drawers gives our client the ability to take the dedicated drawer out of the unit and over to the workspace when it’s needed and then stow it all away neatly when it is not.

  • 3x portable office carts with removable drawers, sliding doors and flexible internal shelving

  • 2x floating picture shelves

The three ‘pan’ drawers provided masses of bulky storage whereas the five removable drawers allows the client to pull each unit out and use them at their desk or on the work top.

The flexibility of these carts and drawers really allow this space to flow and adapt to whatever it needs to be.
